Bud is a life-long student, and has been very actively involved with Edmonds Community College in the Small Business Development Center since 1990.
Beginning with a small janitorial partnership in 1971, Bud started his own contracting business and then went into business in 1975 with his parents at Shannon Towing, eventually purchasing the company from his mother. He then built the company from $ 100,000 to over $ 1,300,000 in annual sales. He sold that business in 1994.
In 1982 Bud started Shannon Ambulance and, after growing the business to over 220 employees, operating in Snohomish, King, and Pierce Counties, as well as Coeur D'Alene, Idaho with annualized revenues of over $ 14 Million, sold that company, then known as United Medical Services, in February, 1998 to Rural/Metro Corporation, a publicly traded company. He has served in executive leadership positions since that time in a manufacturing company and a candy retailing company, gaining even more knowledge about ways to successfully start and grow a company.
During these business endeavors he developed several commercial properties in support of the businesses, the last of which was a 31,000SF mixed use office/industrial building. Bud is familiar with all phases of purchase, sale, leasing and development and construction of all types of commercial property, from bare dirt to remodel transformations.
Bud has been in commercial real estate since 2002. and through the aforementioned experience is well qualified to work with all types of business people, investors and property owners.
A strong belief in giving back to the community is demonstrated by Bud's dedication of time and leadership to community service organizations such as:
Alderwood Rotary Club, (President)
Communities in Schools, (Board of Directors)
Washington Heart Association, Snohomish County Chapter, (Chairman)
Stevens Hospital Foundation, (Board of Directors, President-Elect)
South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce, (Chairman of Board).
Bud fervently believes that the way to build a successful organization is to attract and accept as fellow "associates" only the very best people; to always treat each other with respect, and to give everyone only the very best working conditions, tools and equipment with which to carry out their responsibilities.
When he's not at the office or in the field visiting with fellow Associates, clients or customers, Bud likes to golf, ski, bicycle, and exercise.
